Creating a sustainable PD program for the future
With the current change in the landscape of clinical management of people with Chronic Kidney disease using peritoneal dialysis as a modality of kidney replacement therapy, this course is organized with the goal to establish a successful PD program, with a specific focus on the current post-pandemic period. The sessions are held by Nordic and international experts who have paved the path in several aspects of peritoneal dialysis. The Nordic PD course is divided into three-afternoon sessions with topics of high actuality in peritoneal dialysis:
- Day 1 is focused on the topic of removing barriers of adaptation of home therapy with shared best practices from the COVID-19 period from Nordics and around the world
- Day 2 is focused on the 2020 International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis practice recommendations: Prescribing high-quality goal-directed peritoneal dialysis;
- Day 3 is focused on the catheter insertion guidelines from ISPD as well as shared best practices from European countries on catheter insertion programs as well experience from COVID-19 pandemic.
